My Indignation

In my last work from University I investigated about environment, and more specifically about Chile's environmental policies. However I found a letter on internet written from Greenpeace Chile denouncing that government will not include in the national parks of the Patagonia the protection of the seas.

This is an opportunity from salmon companies, in fact now there is 251 applications from this companies waiting for settle in seas at the end of the world.

This situation offends me because I don´t understand how Chilean government present itself in the world as a leader in protection of the seas, but at the same time it admits that salmon companies control the seas and contaminate it with toxic waste.

Finally, I think that is unacceptable that the traditional medias don´t show this problem, because chileans trust in the information that they give. For example, Greenpeace send to La Tercera their letter and this media published in a small space within the newspaper, didn´t give the corresponding importance.

This implies that people aren´t aware of the country's environmental problems, always believing that everything is right and that the Earth can still be exploited without consequences.
